This tutorial was written by me using
PSP7 and Animation shop
The tutorial is meant as a guide only.
This tutorial is my design and any
similarity to any other tutorial is purely coincidental
Supplies Needed
Dingbats
Flaming stars and splatters

Flame mask from
Here If you are using PSP 8 or above
please download from there.
If using PSP7 mask
Here
(converted and supplied with permission) right click and save to your pc
Tube of your choice. I used the
awesome artwork of Keith Garvey, you must have a license to use his work
which you can purchase from
MY PSP TUBES
Plug In Filters
Eyecandy 4000 Gradient glow ( If you
don't have this use a white drop shadow with 100% opacity)
DBS Flux Bright Noise
Here
Let's get started
Open supplies in PSP
Open a new canvas 600 x 600 flood fill
white
Rename layer background
Click on text tool
Foreground colour black
Background colour null
Line width 3
Vector and Antilias both checked
Font flaming stars and splatters
Type out lower case L
Size 72
Ok
Stretch out to make it larger on your canvas
See my example for sizing
Objects align
Centre in canvas
Convert to raster layer
Rename layer outer shape
Click on the magic wand
With the following settings

Click inside the outer shape
Layers>new raster layer
Name this shape fill 1
Flood fill black
Layers>new raster layer
Name this shape fill 2
Flood fill colour from your tube
Select none
On your layer palette move the outer shape layer to the top
(Don’t worry about the little gaps in colour at the points of the shape
they will be gone lol)
On the shape fill 2 layer (this should be the colour one)
Select all
Float
De-float
Go to masks>New>From Image
With the following settings

Then go Masks>delete
Click yes on the pop up box
Now make your shape outer the active layer
Effects>plug in filters
Eye candy 4000
Gradient glow
With the following settings

You should now have something like this

On the layer shape fill2
Select all
Float
De-float
Duplicate layer twice giving you a total of 3 layers
Hide visibility on the 2 duplicate layers and for now make the original
layer the active layer
Effects>plug in filters>DBS Flux>Bright noise
With the following settings

Close of visibility on the original and unhide the middle of the 3
layers
Repeat the filter but click on where it says mix twice
Repeat for the 3rd of the 3 layers
This time clicking on where it says mix 3 times
Select none
Make the outer shape the active layer
With the magic wand
(Change feather to 0)
Click inside the shape
Selections>modify
Expand by 6
Paste your tube as new layer
Name the layer tube
Move it so that it is placed to one side of the shape
When happy with placement
Duplicate
Hide visibility on the original tube layer
Move the copy of tube beneath the outer shape layer
Selections invert
Press delete on keyboard
Select none
Unhide the original tube layer and make it the active layer
Using the Eraser tool
With the following settings

Rub out the bottom of the tube overhanging the bottom of the shape
See my tag for example
Again make the outer shape the active layer
Add the following drop shadow
V & H -2
Opacity 40
Blur 5
Then repeat changing V & H to 2
Next click on your text tool
Foreground colour null
Background colour a colour from your tube
Font devil inside
Size 72
Type out number 6
(This should give you the devil inside logo)
Ok
Convert to raster layer
Add the same gradient glow as we used before
Rename layer symbol
Now make the background layer the active layer
Click on preset shape tool
Line width 20
Antialias and Create as vector both checked
Shape circle
Line style solid
Foreground colour a colour from your tube
Background colour null
While holding down the shift key draw out a circle slightly smaller than
the outer shape
Objects align
Centre in canvas
Convert to raster layer
Add the same gradient glow as before
Also add the same drop shadow as we used on the outer shape
Layers>duplicate
Resize by 85% all layers un-ticked
Layers>duplicate
Resize again by 85%
Hide all other layers and merge visible on the 3 circles
Rename layer circles
Unhide hidden layers
(If you wish you can add the bright noise to this layer by following the
steps we used on the shape fill layer)
Crop your tag to your liking
Add your name and copyright information
Now to move over to animation shop
Hide the 2 duplicate shape fill 2 layers and make the original shape
fill 2 the active layer
Edit>copy merged
In animation shop paste as new animation
Back in PSP hide the original shape fill 2 layer and unhide the middle
of the 3 layers
Edit>copy merged
Paste into animation shop after current frame
Repeat this for the remaining of the 3 shape fill layers
View animation to make sure it’s copied across correctly
Save your tag as a gif file
And enjoy
