Egyptian Goddess



 

 

 

This tutorial was written by me using PSP7 and Animation shop

The tutorial is meant as a guide only.

The tutorial is my design and any similarity to any other tutorial is purely coincidental.

 

Supplies Needed

Old Egyptian Glyphs and

Meroitic Hieroglyphics Here

Tube of your choice I used the awesome art of Keith Garvey

You must have a license to use his work which you can purchase at MY PSP TUBES

Paper of your choice. I used a paper from the Scrap kit Egyptian by Vix which you can download from her Blog Here

Plug In Filters

Xero Fritillary Here

 

Let's get started

Open supplies in PSP

 

Open a new canvas 600x600 flood fill white
Rename layer background

Click on your text tool

Line width 2
Line style solid
Foreground colour black
Background colour null
Vector and antialias both checked

Select font dingbat Meroitic hieroglyphics
Type a lower case d
Size 72
Click ok


Stretch out the eye so it is large on your canvas. See my tag for example of size
Convert to raster layer
Rename layer outer eye

With your magic wand click inside the eye
Selections>modify>expand by 2
Layers>new Raster layer
Name this eye fill
Flood fill with the colour #D9B37A
Select none
Move this layer below the outer eye layer

Making the eye fill the active layer
Select all
Float
De-float
Duplicate layer twice giving you a total of 3 layers
Close off visibility on the top 2 of the eye fill layers and make the original the active layer
Effects>Plug-In Filters>xero>fritillary
With the following settings

Hide the visibility on the layer you just added the effect to and unhide the next one above
Repeat the filter but change the variation to 15

Repeat for the 3rd layer changing variation to 20

Select none

Make the background layer the active layer
Paste paper as new layer
Masks>new>from image
Select Becky mask in the drop down box
Source luminance
Click ok
Masks>delete
Click yes in the pop up box
Rename layer mask

Paste the tube as new layer
Layers>Arrange>bring to top
Rename layer tube
Add a drop shadow of your choice

Next again on your text tool
Foreground colour null
Background colour black
Font dingbat old Egyptian Glyphs
Type out a lower case e
Size 72
Place this at the bottom of your tag and convert to raster layer
(You don’t have to use this you can add any shapes or brushes you wish)

Crop your tag to your liking and then add your name and copyright information

Now to animate

Hide the top 2 layers of eye fill and make the original eye fill layer the active layer

Copy merged

Paste into animation shop as new animation

Back in PSP hide the layer you just copied across and unhide the middle of the eye fill layers
Copy merged

In animation shop paste after current frame

Repeat this for the last of the eye fill layers

In animation shop select all
Animation>frame properties
Change the display time to 20
Then view animation to make sure you are happy with it

Save tag as a gif file and enjoy
