This tutorial is meant as a guide only
Supplies Needed
Mask by Vix

Tube of your choice. I used the
awesome art of Elias Chazoudis, You must have a license to use his work
which you can purchase at
MY PSP TUBES
Elements of your choice. I used some
elements from Yarrow's Pirates Life scrap kit which you can purchase at
Digital
Chaos
Plug In Filters
Mura's Meisters Copies
Alien Skin Eye Candy 4000
Alien Skin Xenofex 2

Let's get started
Open a new canvas 600x600 flood fill
white
Rename layer background
Paste tube as new layer
Resize by 60%
Rename layer tube
Effects>Plug in’s>Mura’s copies
With the following settings
Layers>new mask layer>from image
Select your mask in the drop down box
Source luminance
Click on the little plus sign next to group tube in your layer palette
to reveal the layers like shown
Right click on mask-tube and delete
Click yes on the pop up box
Now right click on group tube and ungroup layers
(May be an easier way for this but I have only just started using psp8
lol)
Image zoom by 1 to make it clearer to see what you’re doing
Click on your selection tool
With the following settings
Draw 3 rectangles round the main parts of the mask like shown below
Layers>Promote section to layer
Effects>plug in filters>eye candy 4000
Gradient glow
Select fat in colour then in basic change the glow width to 3
Select none
Add the following drop shadow
V & H -2
Opacity 50
Blur 5
Then repeat changing V & H to 2
Reduce the opacity on the tube layer now to 80%
With the promoted selection as the active layer paste your tube as new
layer
Add the same drop shadow you used before
Rename layer tube2
Make the original tube layer the active layer
With the preset shape tool
Rectangle
Foreground colour null
Background colour a colour of your choice
Anti-alias and create as vector both checked
Draw out a rectangle going across your mask at the top.
See my tag for example
Convert to raster layer
Add the same gradient glow we used before
Layers>duplicate
Image flip
Layers duplicate
Move this to be in the centre of the other 2
Hide all other layers and merge visible on the 3 bars you just made
Rename layers bars
Again add the same drop shadow you used before.
Unhide the background and tube layers so you have the 3 bottom layers
showing and everything above the bars closed off for now
Duplicate the bars layer twice giving you a total of 3 layers
Close off visibilty on the top 2 of the duplicated bars
Make the bottom one the active layer
Effects>Plug ins
Alien skin xenofex 2
Constellation
With the following settings
Hide the bottom layer and unhide the middle of the 3 bar layers
Repeat but pressing random seed once
Repeat this on the final of the 3 layers again pressing random seed
Unhide the hidden layers from earlier
Now you can add any elements you like
I used elements from Yarrows Pirate life scrap kit
Add a drop shadow to any elements you use
Crop tag to your liking
Add name and copyright information
Now to move to animation
Close off the visibility of the top 2 bars layers and make the bottom of
the 3 the active layer
Copy merged
In animation shop paste and new animation
Back in PSP hide the layer you just moved across and unhide the middle
of the bar layers
Copy merged
Paste into animation shop after current frame
Repeat this for the final layer
In animation shop
Select all
Animations properties
Change the display time to 20
View animation to check all works ok
Save as a gif and enjoy
