Pretty Punk



 

 

 

This tutorial was written by me using Psp8

The tutorial is meant as a guide only. This tutorial is my design and any similarity to any other tutorial is purely coincidental

 

Supplies Needed

 

Pretty in Punk Scrap kit by me which you can get Here

Tubes of your choice. I used the awesome art of Elias Chatzoudis. To use his work you must have a license which you can purchase from My Psp Tubes

Font of your choice.

Plug in

Toadies-Ommadawn

 

Let's get started

 

Open a new canvas 600 x 600 flood fill white
Rename layer background

Paste the book frame as new layer
Resize by 60%
Rename layer frame

Image>Rotate
Free rotate
Left and by 10 degrees

With your magic wand click inside both sides of the frame
Selections>Modify>Expand by 10
New raster layer
Flood fill with a colour of your choice
Rename layer fill and move it beneath the frame layer

Select none

Make the frame the active layer and again using the magic wand click inside the left hand side of the frame
Expand selection by 10
This time paste your first tube as new layer
Resize if needed
Place it so the part you want showing is inside the marching ants
Selections invert
Press delete on your keyboard
Select none
Rename the layer tube1 and move it beneath the frame layer

Repeat this for the right hand side of the frame but this time
Paste tube as new layer
Rename layer tube2

Resize by 80%
Place it so the tube is slightly overlapping the bottom of the frame
When you’re happy with the placement of the tube duplicate and close off visibility of the copy of tube for now we will be working with the original tube2 layer as the active layer

Move tube2 beneath the frame layer
Selections>Invert
Press delete on your keyboard
Select none
Make the copy of tube 2 visible and the active layer
Use the eraser tool to rub out the part of the tube which is over lapping at the bottom of the frame

Make the frame the active layer and add the following drop shadow
V&H 2
Opacity 50
Blur 3
And repeat changing V&H to -2
Duplicate the frame layer
Move to below the fill layer in layer palette

Effects>Plug in Filters
Toadies
Ommadawn
With the default settings

Hide the background and copy of frame layer
Merge visible on all other layers
Resize merged layer by 90%
Unhide hidden layers

Drag the merged and copy of frame to the top of the canvas

Next choose one of the labels from the scrap kit and past as new layer
Resize by 60%
Free rotate as we did with the frame earlier

Choose the safety pin the opposite colour to the label which you used
Paste as new layer
Resize by 60% then again by 80%
Rotate to the left by 40 degrees
Using the eraser tool
Size 10
Erase some of the pin which is on the label see my example for a guide
Adjust
Sharpness
Sharpen more


Merge down on the pin and then rename layer label

Add any other elements from the kit that you wish

Paste another tube as new layer and place in front of your tag
Add your name and copyright information

Save your tag as a jpg and enjoy
