This tutorial was written by me using
PSP7 and Animation shop. The tutorial is my design and any similarity to
any other tutorial is purely coincidental.
This tutorial is meant as a guide
only.
Supplies Needed
A Pirate's Life Scrap kit by Yarrow

Font of your choice.
Tube of your choice I used the
stunning art of Keith Garvey. You must have a license to use his work
which you can purchase at

Alien Skin Xenofex 2-Constellation

Let's get started
Open supplies in Psp
Open a new canvas 600 x 600 flood fill
white
Rename layer background
Paste frame 8 as new layer
Place it slightly to the left of the canvas and rename layer frame1
Next paste frame 10 as new layer
Image>Rotate 90 to the right
Resize by 50% and again by 70%
Image>Rotate
Free rotate 20 to the right
Move it to the top right of frame1
Layers>Duplicate
Image Mirror
Move this so it is at the bottom of the one you just placed
Duplicate and mirror again
And move this one to the bottom so you have three frames down the right
hand side of the main frame
When u are happy with placement
Hide all other layers
Merge visible on the 3 frames
Rename layer small frames
Unhide all layers
Using the magic wand and holding down the shift key
Click inside all areas of the small frames including where the frames
overlap like shown below
Selections>Modify>Expand by 4
Paste paper 20 as new layer
Selections>Invert
Press delete on your keyboard
Move the paper below the small frame layer and rename fill 1
Next paste your tube as new layer
Place it do the parts you want showing are inside the marching ants
When happy press delete on your keyboard
Select none
Rename layer tube1
Layer>properties>blend mode luminance
Make the small frames the active layer and add the following drop shadow
V & H 2
Opacity 80
Blur 5
Then repeat changing V & H to -2
Next make frame 1 the active layer
Click inside with the magic wand
Selections>Modify>expand by 20
Paste the paper you used before as new layer
Selections invert
Press delete on your keyboard
Select none
Move this layer beneath the frame1 layer
Rename layer fill2
Add the same drop shadow to frame 1 as we used on the small frames
Paste one of the labels as new layer
Layers>arrange>bring to top
Resize by 70% and place it on the bottom of the 3 small frames
Add a drop shadow and rename layer tag
Next take one of the pergament’s and past as new layer
Resize it by 40%
Move it so it is below the tag in the layer palette
Rename it pergament
Image
Rotate
Free rotate
10 to the right
(All layer unchecked)
Next paste the treasure as new layer
Layers>arrange>bring to top
Rename layer treasure
Resize by 60%
Place at the bottom of the pergament
Next paste your tube as new layer
Rename layer main tube
And place it to the left of frame 1
See my tag for example of placement
Add a drop shadow
Paste the word art as new layer
Rename word art
Resize by 60%
Move to the top of your tag
Move the word art layer below your main tube in the layer palette
Next make the background layer the active layer
Paste paper of your choice as new layer
Masks>new>from Image
In the drop down box select mask by yarrow
Source luminance
Press ok
Masks>delete
Click yes on the pop up box
Add your name and copyright information
Now to animate
Make the treasure the active layer
Use the lasso tool to draw around the bottom part of the treasure chest
like shown below
Layers
Duplicate twice giving a total of 3 treasure layers
Close of visibility on the top 2 of them and work for now on the
original
Effects>Plug-In Filters
Alien skin xenofex 2 constellation
With the settings shown below
Close of visibility now on the layer you worked on and unhide the middle
of the treasure layers
Repeat the constellation but pressing the random button
Repeat for the third of the treasure layers again pressing the random
seed button
Select none
Again close off visibility on the top 2 of the treasure layers
With the original of the treasure layers as the active layer
Edit
Copy merged
Paste into animation shop as new animation
Close off visibility of the layer you just took across and unhide the
middle of the treasure layers
Edit
Merge visible
Paste into animation shop after current frame
Repeat this for the last remaining of the treasure layers
When all in PSP
Select all
Animation
Frame properties
Change display time to 15
View animation to check it copied across and all works ok
Save tag as a gif and enjoy
