Yin Yang

This tutorial was written by me using PSP7 .

The tutorial is meant as a guide only.

The tutorial is my design and any similarity to any other tutorial is Purely coincidental.

Supplies Needed

2 Tubes of your choice (Do not mix artists)

I used the awesome art of Keith Garvey. You must have a license to use his tubes which you can purchase at My Psp Tubes

Background shape by me Here

Font of your choice.

Open supplies in PSP

Open a new canvas 600x600
Flood fill white
Rename layer background

Paste the shape I supplied as new layer
Resize by 140%
Rename layer yinyang

Select all
Float
Defloat

Selections>Modify>Contract by 7
Selections>Promote to layer
Rename yinyang2
Select none

Using the magic wand click inside the black part of the layer you promoted
Selections>Modify>Expand by 1

Copy your naughty tube as new layer
Resize by 200%
Place so the part you want showing is inside marching ants
Selections>Invert
Press delete on your keyboard

Reduce the opacity to about 30%
Change the layer properties to luminance
Select none

Repeat this on the white side of the yinyang2 layer with the nice tube
But instead of using luminance colourize the tube with hue and saturation both 0

Hide all layers but the tubes and merge visible
Rename this layer close up
Unhide hidden layers

You should now have something a little like this

Go to resize and resize by 85% all layers checked
Then go to Image>Canvas size
New canvas wants to be 600x600
Make the background layer the active layer
Flood fill white

Make the original yin-yang layer the active layer
Preset shape tool
Line width 2
Foreground colour a bright colour which is easy to see (we will be deleting this after so any bright colour will do)
Background colour null
Draw out a circle with the shift key pressed down which is slightly larger than the yin-yang
Objects>align>centre in canvas
Image>flip
Select your text tool and hover over the line until you see an A with a curved line underneath
Click down with your mouse
Type out the text you want to show on the dark side of the tag in black
I used some words which relate the naughty side of a woman
Click ok
Move the vector circle so the words are showing at the dark side of the tag
Objects>Align Centre in canvas
Go into the layer palette
Click on the + sign next to where it says layer 4
Where it says ellipse click on the glasses to hide the visibility
Now go to layers>convert to raster layer
Add the following drop shadow
V & H 0
Opacity 60
Blur 5

Now repeat this step for the left hand side but with nice words relating to an angelic side of a woman and this time with the words in white
On the drop shadow for the white text change the opacity to 100
Hide all layers but the text layers
Merge visible on the text layers
Rename layer text
Unhide hidden layers

Make the close ups layer the active layer
Using the same font as you used around the tag type out your Name in white
Place it across the middle of your tag

Now use the lasso tool to draw around the part of the text that is in the white side of your shape. You don’t have to be neat around the text but try to keep as close to the where the white and black meet as you can
Like this

Then with lasso tool selected click on the text you have drawn round and it will make the marching ants move to around it
Flood fill this part of the text black

Next paste your tubes as new layer
The nice tube on the white side the naughty tube on the black side

Crop or resize as desired
Add your copyright information

Save your tag as a jpg and enjoy
